Refund policy
Overview
Sun Shine Lights LLC stands behind the quality of every fixture we sell. Please read this policy carefully before initiating a return. By completing a purchase, you agree to the terms below.
Return Window
We accept returns within 30 days of the delivery date, subject to all conditions listed in this policy. Requests submitted after 30 days will not be accepted under any circumstances.
Return Conditions — All Must Be Met
- The fixture must be uninstalled and in its original, unaltered condition
- The fixture must be returned in its original packaging, including all accessories, hardware, mounting hardware, and documentation
- All manufacturer labels, ETL/FCC markings, and serial numbers must be intact and unaltered
- The fixture must show no signs of installation, wiring, modification, physical damage, or misuse
- A valid proof of purchase (order number or receipt) must accompany the return
Non-Returnable Items — No Exceptions
- Fixtures that have been installed, wired, or mounted in any way
- Fixtures with removed, damaged, or tampered labels, serial numbers, or certification markings
- Fixtures damaged due to improper installation, electrical surges, power fluctuations, or misuse
- Custom, special-order, or project-specific items
- Items returned more than 30 days after the delivery date
- Items purchased during a clearance, final sale, or promotional event marked as non-returnable
- Bulk orders of 10 or more units (subject to separate written agreement)
Return Shipping
The customer is solely responsible for all return shipping costs, including carrier fees, packaging, and insurance. We strongly recommend using a trackable shipping method with full insurance coverage equal to the value of the item. Sun Shine Lights LLC is not responsible for items lost, stolen, or damaged during return transit. Original outbound shipping charges are non-refundable in all cases.
Restocking Fee
Returns that arrive with missing components, damaged or missing packaging, or in a condition that prevents resale may be subject to a restocking and inspection fee of up to 25% of the original purchase price, deducted from the refund amount, at the sole discretion of Sun Shine Lights LLC.
How to Initiate a Return
- Email contact@shopsunshineusa.com with your order number, item(s) to be returned, and reason for return
- Wait for a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number — returns shipped without an RMA number will be refused and returned to sender at the customer's expense
- Ship the item to the address provided in the RMA, with the RMA number clearly marked on the outside of the package
- Once received and inspected, we will notify you of approval or denial within 3–5 business days
- Approved refunds are processed within 5–10 business days of approval
Refund Method
Approved refunds are issued exclusively to the original payment method used for the purchase. We do not issue cash refunds, check refunds, store credit in lieu of monetary refunds, or refunds to any payment method other than the one charged at checkout. Refund timing after processing is subject to your bank or card issuer's policies, typically 3–7 business days.
Damaged or Defective Items on Arrival
If your item arrives visibly damaged or is found defective upon first use, you must notify us within 48 hours of delivery by emailing contact@shopsunshineusa.com with your order number and clear photographs of the damage and packaging. Failure to report damage within 48 hours constitutes acceptance of the item in its received condition and may result in denial of a damage or defect claim. Approved claims will be remedied with a replacement unit at our discretion — cash refunds are not available for damage claims.
Warranty Claims
Sun Shine Lights LLC fixtures carry a 5-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects under normal residential or commercial use and proper installation by a qualified electrician. This warranty does not cover: damage caused by improper installation; damage caused by electrical surges, shorts, or incompatible dimmers; physical damage; water damage beyond the fixture's rated IP/damp/wet rating; use outside of rated specifications; or normal wear and aging. Warranty claims are honored with a replacement unit only — they do not entitle the customer to a cash or credit refund. To initiate a warranty claim, email contact@shopsunshineusa.com with proof of purchase and documentation of the defect.
Contractor & Bulk Orders
All orders of 10 or more units and all net-30 contractor account orders are considered final sale at the time of shipment unless a separate written return agreement has been executed prior to the order. Unauthorized returns on bulk orders will be refused. Approved bulk returns are subject to a minimum 25% restocking fee and must be arranged in advance in writing.
Right to Refuse
Sun Shine Lights LLC reserves the right to refuse any return, refund, or exchange request that does not fully satisfy all conditions of this policy, at our sole and absolute discretion, without further obligation to the customer.
